Fine Wine
Fine wine is an ever-popular investment, thanks to the stability and simplicity of the market. With a finite stock of fine wine produced each harvest year, demand will always outstrip supply, and the value of a fine wine will reliably increase over time. From Château Lafite Rothschild to Pétrus, fine wine can open up opportunities: you can take out a short-term loan against your collection without having to move it from your cellar.
What types of wine do you consider for a loan?
We consider wine collections that are stored in professional cellars. We have relationships with most major fine wine storage facilities, and can take over your account or the relevant cases for the duration of the loan. This means you can release capital from your collection, without having to move it out of storage.

How much can I borrow against my wine?
The amount you can borrow depends on the value of your wine and the LTV (Loan to Value) percentage. Our LTV on fine wine is typically 30-60%. So, if your collection is worth £100,000.00 you could expect to borrow anything from £30,000 – £60,000. Typically, we handle fine wine portfolios valued from £75,000 upwards.
Appraising your wine
To appraise your wine and produce an accurate valuation, our experts will consider the château, year and vintage, the number of cases, the provenance and condition of the wine.
