Watches

A luxury watch is an excellent investment. Collectable, portable and aspirational, it’s an alternative asset with growing market demand. Watches made by the iconic brands – think Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet – continue to appreciate, and the secondary market for vintage timepieces is strong. Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the watch market, and our access to real-time sales data, we can provide fast, accurate valuations and offer competitive loans against watches.
What types of watches do you consider for a loan?
We consider new and vintage watches by luxury brands. We loan against Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Cartier, Hublot, IWC, Jaeger-leCoultre, Omega, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin and other high-end watchmakers.
How do I get a loan against my watch?
Simply fill out the form below, and we’ll be in touch to find out more about your watch and arrange collection. We’ll appraise the item and make you a loan offer based on our professional valuation. Alternatively, you can call us on 020 7665 8307 or email contact@eldens.co.uk.
How much can I borrow against my watch?
The amount you can borrow depends on the value of your watch and the LTV (Loan to Value) percentage. Our LTV on watches is typically 50-70%. So, if your item is worth £50,000 you could expect to borrow anything from £25,000 – £35,000. Typically, we handle watches valued at anything from £10,000 to £1,000,000.
Appraising your watch
To appraise your watch and produce an accurate valuation, our experts will consider multiple factors:
Manufacturer & model – Our team hold extensive knowledge of the market, including rare, limited or discontinued styles. We understand the importance of manufacturer and model in determining a watch’s value in the current market conditions.
Age & condition – We scrupulously review restorations, replaced parts, blemishes and dents. With vintage models in particular, rarity and condition are paramount.
Provenance & demand – We consider paperwork, original bill of sale, original box and servicing papers and harness our market insight to assess the current demand for a particular piece or collection.
In addition, all watches are verified against the Watch Loss Register, and watches that are accepted as collateral are logged on the register.
Collection and storage of your watch
Your watch will be professionally handled at all times. It remains protected from the moment it’s collected by our in-house logistics team, until it’s safely and securely returned, following repayment of the loan. All watches are insured for fair market value by underwriters who are part of Lloyds of London.
Once your watch has been appraised we create a condition report (for client reference and internal use only). It’s then professionally sealed and locked in our vault for the duration of the loan.
